Iran Press/ Iran news: Amirabdollahian and Zardari have discussed the latest developments in bilateral ties and some regional issues during a telephone conversation.
Zardari congratulated Amirabdollahian as well as the Iranian government and people on Nowruz.
The top Pakistani diplomat voiced hope that joint border projects between the two countries will soon be launched so that both sides will benefit from them. Zardari also noted that the restoration of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia is an important step and is in the best interests of the region and the Muslim world.
Amir-Abdollahian also extended warm greetings on behalf of the Iranian president to Pakistan’s high-ranking officials and congratulated them on the occasion of Nowruz and the National Day of Pakistan. He said Nowruz is the common Eid of the Iran-Pakistan civilization and cultural sphere and it provides a suitable potential for deepening cultural and economic relations.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed pleasure with the expanding trend of ties between Tehran and Islamabad.
The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the 5-year hiatus in meetings of the joint economic commission of Iran and Pakistan, describing its recent session hosted by Pakistan as important. He added that the meeting which will follow up on the approvals of that session will happen in Tehran soon.
Amir-Abdollahian also spoke about the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, saying the expansion of relations between regional countries is a constructive factor in regional development and stability.
