Tehran (IP) - Iran's Oil Minister says installing the South Pars (SP) Phase 11 gas field platform is the ministry's good news for the people on Eid al-Adha.

Iran PressIran news: On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, June 28, Javad Owji told reporters that installing the 3200-ton platform worth $3.5 billion had been done thanks to domestic knowledge.

Owji said phase 11 of South Pars is located at the zero-point border of the country and that foreign companies had done nothing to operationalize the phase since 2,000.

He added that the phase would be inaugurated with the presence of President Raisi in the coming weeks. 

South Pars Phase 11 platform will yield 12 to 15 million cubic meters of gas in the first stage, reaching 50 million cubic meters.

The SP Phase 11 platform installation operation planned by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) started on Tuesday. It was completed on Wednesday with Petropars Company and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) using the Oceanic-5000 Crane Barge.
