Iranian minister of justice meets his Iraqi counterpart

Baghdad (IP) - Iran’s Minister of Justice and the Head of Iranian Prisons Organization, who traveled to Iraq as part of the Judiciary Department, met with the Iraqi Minister of Justice in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Iran PressMiddle East: During the meeting, Iran’s Minister of Justice Alireza Avayi and the Head of Iranian Prisons Organization Mohammad-Mehdi Hajmohammadi discussed with Iraqi Minister of Justice Haidar Al Zamily discussed mutually interesting issues like Iran-Iraq cooperation in the transfer of convicts, sharing experiences, providing services to prisoners, and efforts to assist prisoners.

Iran's Judiciary Chief, Ebrahim Raisi, arrived in Baghdad on Monday night at the head of a high-level delegation at the official invitation of Chairman of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zidan.

Iran and Iraq signed three memoranda of understanding on judicial and legal cooperation yesterday.

One of the most important goals of this trip is to follow up on the assassination of the commanders of the fight against terrorism, Lt. Gen. Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

On Tuesday, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi met with Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi in Baghdad. 

Iran's Judiciary Chief is also scheduled to have a separate meeting with the Iraqi President Barham Salih and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi.
