Bosnia and Herzegovina (IP) – The 31st martyrdom anniversary of the first Iranian martyred in the war on Bosnia and Herzegovina was commemorated.

Iran Press/Europe: Rasoul Heydari and his Bosnian comrade Mohammed Avdic were martyred 31 years ago in Kakani of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Serbian-Croatian war on the country. 

The commemoration ceremony was held with the cooperation of the Association of Martyrs' Families of Visoko and Kakani and the Bosnian Persian College with the presence of the Iranian ambassador to Sarajevo, the families of the martyrs, diplomats, and officials.

The Iranian ambassador Abouzar Ebrahimi said in the ceremony that people sacrifice their lives so that others can live in comfort and safety.

Rasoul Heydari was in charge of the Humanitarian Aid Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina's central district; he was martyred on June 8, 1993, as he was passing Sarajevo road and was caught in the Croatian forces' ambush.

Heydari is called the first Iranian martyr of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 204
