Iran (IP) - The Commander of Iran's Border Guard Police reported the seizure of a vessel trafficking made-in-US cold weapons in the Persian Gulf.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi said that the Iranian border guards seized a vessel carrying more than 5,000 US-made swords and machetes in Bushehr port province, southern Iran.

General Goudarzi said that in the past few months, Iran's border guards seized more than 3,000 weapons which were aimed to be distributed among the rioters rebelling in Iran's recent unrest.

Unrest and brawls were instigated under the pretext of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died due to a sudden heart attack in a police center in Tehran on Tuesday, September 13, after being taken there for violation of dress codes along with some other women.

The rioters damaged public property. They even attack ambulances and set fire to them.

In an interview with BBC, the US' former National Security Advisor John Bolton had earlier acknowledged that weapons from Iraq's Kurdistan had been sent to the rebels in Iran.
