Tehran (IP) - Iran's President stated, "Today, many people claim to defend women's rights, but in practice they seek to use them as a tool, but our Islamic system and culture attaches real value and position to women and obliges itself to realise this value and position."

Iran PressIran news: Speaking on Sunday morning at the same time as the birthday of H.H. Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) and Girl's Day, in a celebration held on this occasion in Tehran's Book Garden complex, Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the girls of Iran on this occasion.

The President further described women as having inherent dignity that God has placed in them and stated: "The Popular Administration considers you girls as a source of pride for the society and feels a special responsibility towards you."

Raisi also referred to the words of two of the girls who explained the demands and views of the girls and stated, "I am very happy that today, despite the significant social progress of girls in Islamic Iran, the demands raised by them in such a gathering and ceremony are requests to strengthen skills training in schools and also to strengthen the spirit of independence. I urge the education authorities to pay due attention to these demands so that the girls of our land can help build a bright future for Islamic Iran."

Raisi added: "Today, many people claim to defend women's rights, but in practice they seek to use them as a tool, but our Islamic system and culture attaches real value and status to women and considers itself obliged to realise this value and status."

Addressing the girls and women of Islamic Iran, the President said: "Value your position and be sure that you have a very high and worthy position."

Raisi also visited Tehran Book Garden Complex upon his arrival.
