The Iranian foreign minister held several meetings with Azeri, Turkish and Tajik counterparts in meeting on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation emergency meeting in Saudia Arabia's Jeddah city on Tuesday.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Apart from meetings with the OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday in Jeddah, before the OIC meeting started, Iran's top Iranian diplomat held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic, Turkey and Tajikistan. 

In the meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized boosting bilateral relations as well as cooperation on the Gaza issue

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also met with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin in his other meeting on Tuesday evening.

In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian considered the relations between the two nations of Iran and Tajikistan as brotherly and close and emphasized the importance of the increasing development of relations with Tajikistan as an important priority of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also expressed Iran's readiness to fully implement all the documents signed in the mutual meeting of the two presidents.

Iran's top diplomat appreciated Tajikistan for its stance on Palestine while assessing Tajikistan's participation in the Jeddah meeting and the delivered speech of the Tajik foreign minister as an important and hopeful message for the Palestinian nation.

Tajik Foreign Minister also expressed his satisfaction with this meeting and appreciated Iran's efforts for the initiative to hold an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of Islamic countries regarding Palestine and considered it as a sign of Iran's humanitarian interest in the Palestinian issue.

In the meeting with his Azeri counterpart, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Azerbaijan on the recent presidential elections and expressed Iran's readiness to expand ties with the neighbor in all fields.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of joint effort and action to make regional multilateral structures more active in the direction of common interests of regional countries.

Bayramov, for his part, said that Iran enjoys a privileged position among Azaerbaijan's neighbors.

Referring to the progress of the implementation of some joint projects, the Azeri minister expressed hope that these projects will be implemented and inaugurated as soon as possible according to the schedule.
