Tehran (IP) - In a statement, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the attempts by disruptors to prevent Iranian expatriates from participating in the recent presidential election through intimidation, insults, and offensive language.

Iran PressIran news: Kanaani praised the participation of Iranian expatriates in the election, despite some difficulties, as a "beautiful manifestation of national solidarity between Iranians inside and outside the country." However, he expressed dismay at the behavior of certain individuals who identify themselves as "opponents" of the Islamic establishment.

The spokesman criticized these "opponents" for their "profound depravity," which was on full display globally due to their "vulgar behavior and offensive language." He questioned why some Western governments, who claim to champion democracy, have allowed such "disgraceful behavior" and failed to take legal and preventative actions against those who insulted and violated the rights of Iranian citizens abroad.

Kanaani called on responsible authorities in Western countries to provide an explanation and take appropriate action in response to the "barbaric, uncivilized, and illegal behavior" faced by Iranian expatriates during the election. He emphasized that the conduct of these governments, which profess to uphold civil rights, human rights, and democracy, will be closely scrutinized.

The statement highlights the challenges faced by Iranian expatriates in exercising their democratic rights and the perceived lack of support from Western governments in ensuring a safe and secure environment for their participation in the electoral process.
