The new ambassador of Iran to Sri Lankan,Hashem Ashjazadeh

The new ambassador of Iran to Sri Lanka submitted his credentials to the President of the country.

Iran Press/Asia: Hashem Ashjazadeh met with Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa through video-conference on Thursday and submitted his credentials to him.

Formerly, Ashjazadeh was Ambassador-designate of the Islamic Republic of Iran based in Colombo.

This is the first time in Sri Lanka for this solemn ceremony to be conducted using such technology, said the President’s Media Division.

The PMD said instead of postponing the presentation ceremony until the COVID-19 crisis ends, the President instructed for the ceremony to proceed as per schedule.

Ambassador for the Federative Republic of Brazil and the High Commissioner of the Republic of India, based in Colombo presented their credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo in the same ceremony.
