Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Asghar Zare'an said: "Iran has made a name for itself in peaceful civilian nuclear technology and exporting this technology is one of our strengths."
He pointedly added: "In order to export, we need to convert (pure) science into technology. We should use this technology at home, and also export it abroad."
Speaking at the 50th exhibition of the achievements of Iran's nuclear industry, held at Islamic Azad University in Karaj, Ali Asghar Zare'an said that one of our nuclear exports is "heavy water", 30 tonnes of which we sold to the Americans and another 40 tonnes we sold to the Russians.
Zare'an said the Europeans are also keen to buy heavy water from Iran, and we have already sold some heavy water to a number of European countries and we are currently considering requests for heavy water by a number of European firms.
Zarean said Iran has managed to break the monopoly of an exclusive "nuclear consortium" with only five member states, by exporting "heavy water and even some uranium".
The special adviser to the Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) added: "After the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action JCPOA), Iran has imported 400 tonnes of yellowcake and in return has exported close to eight-and-a-half tonnes of enriched Uranium."
