Iran Press/ Iran news: In an interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the opening of the 2021 Olympic Cultural Week in the Abbasabad Cultural Complex in Tehran, Reza Salehi-Amiri stated: "About 2.5 years ago, the National Olympic Committee of Iran, in addition to forming the championship sports headquarters, also established the cultural headquarters."
He said that for cultural activities in the Tokyo Olympics, a large cultural delegation was meant to be active in Tehran and the Tokyo Olympics.
He noted that although the activities of this cultural delegation faced more limitations after the COVID-19 outbreak, during the 2021 Olympic Cultural Week, 14 events would be held in the Abbasabad Cultural Complex in Tehran, as well as 4 events in the Tokyo Olympics.
He pointed out that the purpose of the cultural delegation is to show the beautiful image of Iran to the world.
The symbol of Iran's cultural delegation at the Tokyo Olympics would be a 3,000-year-old cup called 'Arjan', which shows that the origin of sports had been in Iran.
