Iran Press/Iran News: In a ceremony, Iran Army commemorated the former high-ranking military commander Lieutenant-General Mohammad-Vali Qarani in Tehran on Wednesday.
Mohammad-Vali Qarani (1913–23 April 1979) was an Iranian military officer. He was born in Tehran. He graduated from the Officers' Academy and the War College.
On Wednesday Iran marked the commemoration ceremony of Mohammad-Vali Qarani, the former high-ranking military commander with Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Chief Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in attendance.
During the ceremony Major-General Abdolrahim Mousavi donated the 'Medal of Courage' to martyrs' families.
Also, martyr Mohammad-Vali Qarani's comrades recounted and shared memories and stories of this courageous martyr who sacrificed his life for the betterment of Iran.
Qarani served as the first Chief-of-Staff of the Iranian Army after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, from February 12, 1979 to March 27, 1979, when he was forced out.
He was assassinated on 23 April 1979 by Forqan terrorist outfit. Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in attendance.
