Iran Press/ Iran news: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Algerian Parliament Speaker Ibrahim Boughali met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the fifth emergency meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) and the first meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
During their meeting, the two speakers discussed the importance of unity among Islamic countries in supporting the Palestinian cause. Ghalibaf emphasized that the Islamic world must use all of its resources to support the oppressed Palestinian people.
Ghalibaf also highlighted the potential for expanding economic relations between Iran and Algeria, noting that Algeria could serve as a hub for trade and transit in North Africa.
He expressed hope that the development of parliamentary ties between the two countries would pave the way for further cooperation between their governments.
For his part, Boughali expressed Algeria's deep commitment to the Palestinian cause, noting that the Palestinian issue is not only an ideological one for Algeria but also a matter of historical connection.
He condemned the Israeli occupation of Palestine and called for international solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Both speakers affirmed their belief that the Palestinian issue is not only an Islamic cause but also a human one that requires the support of all nations. They reiterated their commitment to working together to achieve a just and lasting solution to the conflict.
