(IP)- Iran's ambassador to Tajikistan met Tajikistan's Foreign Minister on the occasion of the end of his mission.

Iran PressAsia:  During the last days of his mission, Iran's Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mohammad Taghi Saberi, met with Tajikistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and the two sides exchanged views on the latest status of Tehran-Dushanbe ties in various fields. 

Muhriddin stated that the Iranian ambassador's mission in Tajikistan was successful, expressing hope for developing the ties between the two countries.  

The Iranian ambassador also appreciated the adequate support and cooperation of the officials of Tajikistan, who facilitated his mission and strengthened the friendly relations between the two countries. 

The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Tajikistan and was the first country to open its embassy in Dushanbe.

The two nations' historical, cultural, religious, and linguistic affinities have created excellent relations between the two countries. 

In the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tajikistan also enjoys a high position, and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, has referred to the relations between the two countries as "kinship relations."
