Iranian president and his Egyptian counterpart, in a meeting, discussed Middle East tensions and called for regional de-escalation.

Iran PressEurope: Masoud Pezeshkian and Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in this meeting that was held on Wednesday, on the sideline of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, while discussing the most important issues in the region and solutions to stop the war in Gaza and Lebanon, emphasized on preventing the spread of tensions to other parts of the region.

While criticizing the double standards and the West's support for the Israeli regime's crimes, Pezeshkian stressed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is not seeking war and conflict; But if Israel makes a mistake against Iran, Tehran's response will be strong and painful."

The Egyptian president also considered unity and cohesion to be the most important component of Muslim power and said: "We must work together to end the war in Gaza and Lebanon and prevent conflicts from spreading to other parts of the region."
