Iran's 74-kilogram U-23 freestyle wrestler in the 2022 Spain Junior Freestyle Championship won the final match versus an Azerbaijani athlete to win Iran's 2nd gold world medal on Sunday evening.

Iran PressEurope: Mohammad-Sadeq Firouzpour beat Turkmenistan's Safar Atamir Charliev 10-0 in his first match and Turkey's Esmat Jitfju 6-4 to reach the quarter final.

In the quarter final, he beat Ukraine's Vadim Kurlinco 4-0 to reach the semifinal.

Firouzpour competitor from Georgia, Timori Broshivili did not come to the round mattress as he was hurt, and thus Firouzpour became a finalist.

The Iranian athlete faced Azerbaijan's Mord Godjiev, whom he beat 5-2 to win the world gold medal in his weight class.

Earlier on Sunday, in the 97 kg, Amir Ali Azarpira defeated Tanner Sloan from America in the final match with a score of 5:3 and snatched the gold medal.
