BANDAR ABBAS (IP) - In a remarkable display of Iran's naval prowess, the Iranian Navy's 86th flotilla, consisting of the indigenously manufactured Dena destroyer and Makran forward base ship, received a triumphant welcome on Sunday.

Iran PressIran News: The flotilla, after completing a momentous voyage that encircled the globe, entered the 1st naval area of the army navy in Bandar Abbas on Saturday.

Amidst an official ceremony, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, the commander of the Navy, and Army Commander Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi were present to extend a warm reception to the 86th flotilla.

Having embarked on an overseas mission to enhance Iran's naval presence on the high seas, the 86th flotilla returned home on Wednesday, setting a historic precedent for the Iranian Navy. Over the course of eight months, the flotilla navigated an impressive 63,000 kilometers of sea routes, successfully completing a full 360-degree circumnavigation of the globe.

This accomplishment not only showcases Iran's maritime capabilities but also underscores its commitment to asserting its naval strength on a global scale. With the inclusion of the Dena destroyer and Makran forward base ship, the Iranian Navy's 86th flotilla demonstrates the nation's unwavering dedication to safeguarding its territorial waters and projecting its influence beyond its shores.
