Tehran (IP)- Iran's President, Ebrahim Raisi, and Uzbekistan's President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, presided over the signing ceremony of a joint statement and ten cooperation agreements.

Iran PressIran News: The event saw the signing of several memorandums of understanding aimed at promoting cooperation between the two countries.

Among the agreements signed were those related to preferential trade, a cooperation program between Iran's National Standards Organization and Uzbekistan's Technical Regulation Organization, and a memorandum of understanding on establishing joint free zones. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the field of insurance between the Central Insurance of Iran and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.

Other documents signed during the ceremony included memoranda of understanding for transportation and transit cooperation, as well as in the field of pharmaceutical cooperation. A treaty was also signed between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the transfer of convicts.

Furthermore, an executive plan for cooperation in technology and agriculture was agreed upon by both nations. Notably, an understanding to promote cooperation between Hamadan Province in Iran and Bukhara Province in Uzbekistan was also signed by Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiar Saidov.

The signing ceremony marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between Iran and Uzbekistan across various sectors.
