Iran Press/ Iran news: Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the question of the Iran Press reporter regarding the actions of Iran and other Islamic countries regarding insulting the Holy Quran, emphasized: "Insulting Quran with the excuse of "freedom of speech" is a clear violation of the rights of other nations."
He emphasized: "Insulting the Islamic values is unacceptable and this action took place in countries that have Muslim citizens."
Kanaani added: "The Quran is the point of unity of the Islamic Ummah, and the followers of other religions also condemned this behaviour."
Iran, the most important member country of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, has shown a serious reaction and requested an emergency meeting.
While referring to the phone conversation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country with other ministers of Islamic countries and communication with religious leaders, Kanaani said: "Iran is using its international capabilities to deal with insulting holy Quran and in its previous action, Iran organized a meeting, and the action was condemned as well."
FM Spox. stated: "Islamic countries should use international capacities and take preventive actions. Insulting the Holy Quran has no excuse, and dealing with insulters is requested by all Islamic countries."
