Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs warned against the continuation of the dangerous approach of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip and called for increased pressure, especially from this organization, to curb the genocidal crimes of this regime.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, appreciating the UN Secretary General's efforts to end the Israeli regime's war and genocide in the Gaza Strip, said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran continues its efforts to establish stable security in the region, especially ending the crimes of the Israeli regime in the war against Gaza."

Amir-Abdollahian warned that if the US, instead of putting pressure on Netanyahu to accept a ceasefire, appeases this regime into committing new crimes in Rafah, the consequences will be severe for the supporters of the war.

Iran's foreign minister noting his support for Hamas's response to the plan to stop the war, said: "In continuation of the 'policy of terror and genocide', the Zionist regime is now trying to create another disaster in the region by closing the Rafah and Karam Abu Salem crossings and making international efforts to stop the war fruitless."

He emphasized that the White House must choose between showing its will to put pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the war or bringing the region into a new and different level of crisis and tension.

Antonio Guterres also appreciating Iran's actions and wise positions to establish peace and security in the region said that the United Nations emphasizes its firm position to achieve a ceasefire and end the war as soon as possible.

The Secretary General of the United Nations added: "The UN continues the process of putting pressure on Israel and actively consulting with the United States and other influential countries to establish a ceasefire and an immediate end to the war in Gaza and the region, especially opening the Rafah crossing as soon as possible and other crossings that are the lifeline of the people of Gaza are prioritized.

The UN chief added, “I am constantly in contact with Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan in addition to the ongoing consultation between us, and I ask all sides to focus on stopping the war and bloodshed. Be sure that we will continue seriously until the war is stopped and the problems are resolved, and we thank Iran in this way.”

Since October 7, 2023, the genocidal regime of Israel, with the full support of the United States and Western countries, has launched a massive massacre in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River against the defenseless and oppressed people of Palestine. 219
