Iran Press/ America: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and Tobias Billström, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, discussed on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
According to Iran Press, Amir-Abdollahian, in the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, referring to several phone conversations with him in the past months, said: "We have important issues to discuss and exchange opinions in various fields, but the most important issue is the continuation of sacrilege of the Holy Quran in Sweden."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, referring to the hurting of the feelings of two billion Muslims in the world due to repeated desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, said: "Defending the values of Sweden at the cost of ignoring the values of two billion Muslims in the world is not acceptable, so we want to emphasize the importance and necessity of the responsibility and accountability of the Swedish government in this regard."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran further stated: "Regarding the exchange of ambassadors, we are waiting for a good action regarding the Holy Quran in Sweden."
Amir-Abdollahian, also referring to the situation of Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen imprisoned in Sweden, said:
" Behind Nouri's case are the MKO terrorist outfit, whose hands are stained with the blood of thousands of Iranian citizens, and it is expected that the Swedish government will make a wise and courageous decision in the appeal stage, and he will be released."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden also said in this meeting: "Islamophobia has no place in the Swedish government and we are in favor of religious tolerance."
Tobias Billström announced Sweden's willingness to continue dialogue and cooperation with Tehran.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden also talked about some consular issues of his country.
Iran, Jordan confer boosting ties
Furthermore; Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in continuation of his intensive diplomatic consultations on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly session, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, at the Permanent Mission of this country (Jordan) in New York and held talks.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan also said in this meeting: "We want good and fraternal relations between the two countries and the opening of a new page in the relations with Iran."
Ayman al-Safadi added: "We have many common challenges in the region that cannot be overcome except by cooperating with each other, and we must try to make the relations between the two countries reflect the historical fraternal relations of the two nations."
Iran, Azerbaijan FMs confer Laytest developments
The meeting of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Jeihun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held in New York on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
According to Iran Press, in this meeting, some issues of mutual interest and developments in the Karabakh region were discussed and opinions were exchanged.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed his satisfaction with the progress of relations between the two countries in various fields and expressed his hope that in completing this process, he will soon see the return of the ambassador and diplomats of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the embassy of this country in Tehran and the opening of a new page in the relations between the two countries.
In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed Baku's satisfaction with the recent meetings of various delegations of the two countries and the results obtained.
