Iran's officials suspended flights to Britain for two weeks on Sunday due to the new Coronavirus strain.

Iran Press/Iran news: Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Shahram Adamnejad said that Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education has decided to halt the flights between the two countries because of the spread of a new variant of the Covid-19 disease in the United Kingdom.

"Due to the new circumstances in the spread of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom, flights between Tehran and destinations in the UK will be suspended for two weeks," IRNA quoted Adamnejad.

Several European countries have banned flights from the UK over fears about a new coronavirus variant that has forced millions of people in Britain to cancel their Christmas plans.

Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Italy all announced restrictions on UK travel. Others will likely follow suit as scientists warned the new strain spread more quickly than its predecessor.
