Tehran(IP)- Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development headed to UAE to attend the 17th International Middle East Rail in Abu Dhabi, officially invited by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, to expand commercial and transport ties.

Iran PressIran news: Mehrdad Bazrpash, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, spoke to reporters on Monday before leaving for the UAE, although today the 17th international Middle East Rail will be held in Abu Dhabi and the associated authorities and transport ministers of the regional states and the Middle East are present at this summit, he added: "A suitable opportunity was created for bilateral negotiations between Iran and the UAE to expand cooperation."

Bazrpash added: "The UAE is a country that has many trade exchanges with Iran and is one of the three main countries that have significant trade relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The Chairman of the Joint Economic Commission of Iran and the UAE stated: "Considering the existence of corridor, port and railway capacities of Iran, a significant platform for investment is available."

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran added: "Emirati investors are interested and have many proposals to invest in Iran, and considering that attracting foreign investment is one of the economic principles and policies of the government, efforts are being made to explain Iran's economic capacities at the 17th International Middle East Rail Summit."

On the sideline of the international event, the Iranian transport minister is expected to meet the Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Middle East Rail is the region's leading event for rail innovation, technology, and strategy, which is held from 15 to 16 May 2023 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, UAE.
