New York (IP) - Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations announced that the Islamic Republic, in cooperation with the United Nations, will host the international conference on September 9 and 10 dealing with dust storms.

Iran PressIran News: On Monday, at the 18th General Assembly of the United Nations on Forests, Amir Saeid Iravani discussed reviving forests to overcome multiple crises and the damage and negative effects of dust storms on sustainable forest management (SFM).

Iravani noted that the international conference aims at examining global challenges and providing practical solutions to deal with them. 

Enumerating some of Tehran's measures in line with sustainable forest management, he added that limited resources, deforestation, climate change, and poor access to financial resources are the main challenges of countries with low forest cover(LFC)."

He emphasized the expansion of international assistance to solve environmental problems, especially sand and dust storms, with the management of the United Nations.
