Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman says the Islamic Republic considers reaching an agreement as a serious strategy and does not look at tactical negotiations.

Iran PressIran news: Attending his weekly press conference on Monday, Nasser Kanaani said about the Vienna talks that messages were exchanged in recent days and Josep Borrell proposed a text based on the past negotiations and the parties received it and Iran also received these proposals.

He noted that the Iranian side has carefully examined the text and suggestions and presented its point of view.

"We witnessed the movement of other parties as well," he added.

"After the exchange of messages that took place in recent weeks and the reviews of the proposed texts, there is a possibility that in the near future we will be able to reach a conclusion regarding the timing of the negotiations and possibly witness a new round of talks. I must emphasize that this completely depends on the will of the other side, especially the American side, to show its readiness to reach a reasonable and sustainable agreement and refrain from raising irrelevant issues," the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

"The realization of this depends on the honest cooperation of our parties in the friendly country of Afghanistan, and we consider this as a sign of good faith that our friends are willing to form cooperation with constructive interaction with Iran. We continue our efforts seriously. We still do not see the fulfillment of Iran's expectations from the brothers in Afghanistan. The amount of water deposited is small and we hope that the brothers in Afghanistan will fulfill their obligations," he said.
