Ankara (IP) - The deputy of economic diplomacy of Iran's foreign ministry said that the Iranian delegation traveled to Turkey to plan to hold a joint commission for economic cooperation.

Iran PressIran news: Mehdi Safari, who traveled to Turkey heading a political and economic delegation after meeting with Turkish officials, in response to Iran Press, said: In the meeting with Turkish officials, we discussed political, economic, cultural, border security, border markets, and transportation.

He also discussed cooperation in the energy field, especially in gas, with the deputy foreign minister of Turkey.

The Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran added that there was a discussion with the officials of the Ministry of Finance of Turkey and the Central Bank of this country about the financial, banking, and property issues of the two countries so that Iran can facilitate its purchases from Turkey.

Safari stated that the Iranian delegation also met with the Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey and discussed tariffs and trade.

The diplomat also said that the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation meeting between the two countries was scheduled in Iran in the second half of October 2023.

"Road transportation will be especially pursued, and a new round of negotiations will be held in Turkey in the next 10 days," Safari underscored.

The deputy minister stated, "Our conversation with Turkish officials was a crucial move towards enhancing collaboration, to achieve a commercial exchange of 30 billion dollars per year between our two nations. The Iranian President highlighted this in his meeting with the Turkish President."
