Iran Press/ America: Majid Takht-Ravanchi stressed that the solution to the Syrian crisis should be peaceful and with full respect to the country's national sovereignty.
Takht Ravanchi recalled that part of Syria was still under the occupation of the Israeli regime, calling the end of the occupation the prerequisite to reaching peace and stability in the country.
The senior Iranian diplomat urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to overtly condemn the Israeli aggression on Syria, pointing out that Iran, based on the UN Charter and international law, recognized the right of Syria to defend itself.
The Syrian crisis began as the US-backed terrorist groups, including ISIS (Daesh), attacked the country to change the equations in the region in favor of the Israeli regime.
