Tehran (IP) - Iran's foreign ministry spokesman referred to the failure of the United States in holding the "Arria formula" meeting and condemned the event, which was aimed at the so-called isolation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Writing on Twitter on Sunday, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, criticized the informal meeting of the Security Council called "Arria Formula" held by the United States and Albania: "The biggest violators of human rights and the supporters of the most notorious terrorist groups, have held the Arria Formula meeting in New York against the Islamic Republic to condemn and isolate Iran in their opinion."

Kanaani added: "The US held this meeting as a platform for two women who are known to support sanctions against Iranian women and children! The US administration failed in New York."

Less than a week later, he said, the representatives of 19 countries against the sanctions, who were not allowed to speak at the Arria Formula meeting, attended the meeting of the National Coordinators of the Groups of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations in Tehran and reacted to the US move.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, an informal meeting of the Security Council called "Arria Formula" was held in New York, designed by the United States and Albania against Iran.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the National Coordinators of the Groups of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs of the member countries was held on Saturday, November 5th, with the presence of Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in Tehran.

The participants, in a statement supporting the people and government of Iran against unilateral sanctions, expressed their concern about some governments' instrumental use of the UN  Security Council to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.
