Iran's WFPIST SG confers with Afghan Ulema on phone

Tehran (IP) - The Secretary-General for the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) spoke by telephone with a number of Afghan scholars on Friday.

Iran PressIran news: Hamid Shahriari in these separate telephone conversations, while examining the current situation in Afghanistan, has stated that the only solution to the Afghan crisis and a just way to peace in the country is dialogue.

The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) stressed in these telephone conversations that issues should be looked at rationally and that ethnic totalitarianism is not the solution for Afghanistan, adding that the Taliban and non-Taliban cannot rule Afghanistan with totalitarianism.

Shahriari continued by stating that the war is the desire of the enemies of all ethnic groups, adding: "The groups involved in Afghanistan should lay down their arms and participate in the future political scene to shape the political system of Afghanistan by the Afghans themselves."

The WFSPIST Secretary-General also referred to the role of Afghan scholars in solving the current problems of the country and expressed hope that Afghans could reach a common rational solution through dialogue with the people and using the opinions of scholars and scholarly councils to solve problems.

In these telephone conversations, Afghan scholars, while appreciating the telephone call of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), called for the unity of Afghan groups and tribes in the current situation and stressed the need to confront extremism and takfirism in the Islamic world.
