Tehran (IP) - The Commander of Iran's Army Air Force (IRIAF) stated that the way to success is to give importance to the country's youth.

Iran PressIran news:  On the sidelines of commemorating Operation Kaman 99 held on Saturday, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi told Iran Press in an exclusive interview: It is necessary to talk to the youth in their own language and value them.

Vahedi further noted: In the enemy's sophisticated and hybrid war, all young people should be informed and keep alert.

He stated that the enemy is plotting against the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of waging war.

The commemoration ceremony was held on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week starting from September 22.

On September 22, 1980, the Iraqi Ba'athist regime, supported by the West, initiated an imposed war on Iran, which took eight years.

Operation Alborz, more commonly known by the code-name Operation Kaman 99, was an operation launched by the Iranian Air Force in retaliation to Iraqi surprise aerial attacks on Iran the day before, which marked the beginning of the 8-year-long Iran–Iraq War.

Operation Kaman 99 is considered the largest operation carried out by the IRIAF.

The outcome was clearly successful, as the Iranians achieved air superiority for the first years of the conflict.
