Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sideline of international space day held in Tehran on 5 October, Morteza Barari said industry experts try to make people familiar with the uses of this industry and attempts are being made to use the space technology to boost the economic section so the most important concern is to utilize the space industry.
The space industry, he said is of high use in agriculture, disaster management, environment, urban service, navigation, and telecommunication satellites.
Referring to the job opportunities the industry is able to provide, Barari highlighted, "The agency's strategy is to receive data from satellites and provide the information needed by the startups. Some of these startups were present at the ceremony, operating in the mining, agriculture, urban management, and meteorology areas."
He expressed hope that the economic power in the space field could be obtained through the private sector's investment, pointing out to Iran's growing economy and the business formations.
Noting to the fact that Iran's space industry endured a forty-year sanction he added, "We started our space program relying upon our own resources and expertise, under the motto of 'we can'; fortunately, we are not dependent on the US so its sanction has no impact on our space program progress; we try to respond to the sanctions through putting our satellites in space orbit."
In this year, he went on to say, three satellites will be completed in order to be placed in Geostationary orbit (GEO), two of which are of Remote-Sensing Satellites namely Zafar and Pars-1, and the other Nahid-1 is a telecommunication one. 101/219
