Tehran (IP) - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) left the country for UAE to have negotiations with Emirati officials on Thursday.

Iran PressIran news: Before his departure, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani told reporters that Iran's policy is to expand regional cooperation, which is being pursued in the framework of neighborhood diplomacy.

He said that new positive development in the region would be possible in case the regional country concluded that only the empowerment of the region could bring sustainable security and stability. 

There are many economic, political, and security commonalities between Iran and the UAE, the strengthening of which requires constant consultations between the officials of the two countries, he added.

Admiral Shamkhani has been invited officially by his counterpart Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan the Secretary of the UAE Supreme National Security Council.

He is scheduled to meet with his Emirati counterpart and other senior officials during this trip to discuss revitalizing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) lifting sanctions, and other bilateral security-political-related issues.
