2024 Asian Men’s Club Championship:

Yazd (IP) - In what was dubbed an early final, the Shahdab Yazd volleyball team started their 2024 Asian Men’s Club Championship campaign with a decisive win over a strong Indonesian contender.

Iran Press/Iran news: The 26th edition of the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship kicked off today (Sunday, September 8th) at the 6,000-seat Shahidieh Yazd Arena. Shahdab Yazd, facing Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, one of the tournament's favorites, secured a 3-1 victory in their opening match.

Despite dropping the third set 25-23, Shahdab dominated the first, second, and fourth sets with scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-20, respectively. This match marked the first official test for Shahdab’s new head coach, Rahman Mohammadirad, who successfully guided his team to victory.

Shahdab's starting lineup featured captain Masoud Gholami, Amir Ghafour, Morteza Sharifi, Erfan Norouzi, Ali Osman Faryad, Ilyshen Davoudipour, and libero Mohammadreza Mo’azzen. Throughout the match, Mohammadirad also utilized Shahrouz Homayounfar-Manesh, Younes Javan, and Mohsen Dalavari, making strategic substitutions to maintain the team’s momentum.

Dressed in their signature orange jerseys, Shahdab faced off against the white-clad Indonesian team with determination and unity, securing a win that sets the stage for their next challenge with confidence.
