Yazd (IP) - UNESCO gave the Award of Merit to Iran due to the reparation of Yazd's Sadoughi House, central Iran, at a ceremony held in Thailand.

Iran PressIran News: Sadughi House, a historical complex of the Qajar dynasty, dates back more than 300 years, has been restored, and is currently operating as the Martyr Sadoughi House of Culture.

Yazd, formerly known as Yezd, is the capital of Yazd Province, located 270 km southeast of Isfahan, central Iran. Since 2017, the historical city of Yazd has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Iran is among the few historical and civilized countries in the world, and in terms of the number of registered world heritages, it is among the top countries in the world.

There are more than 30,000 touristic, either natural or cultural, attractions. The country is in first place in the world regarding the number of globally-registered cities with handicrafts.
