Iran Press/ Iran news: Kurdistan province was connected to the country's railway network as the 24th province with the operation of the 151 km long Hamedan-Sanandaj railway project inaugurated by Seyed Ebrahim Raisi.
The Hamedan-Sanandaj railway project had progressed by 60% in the past 18 years and was closed due to financial issues.
The operation of completing this project was resumed last year after the president's visit to Kurdistan and securing the credit of financing 14 thousand billion rials. This project connects the 24th capital of the Iranian provinces to the country's rail network.
The Hamedan-Sanandaj railway route is nearly 151 km (including 177 km of station lines), with seven stations along the route, which starts from the Hamedan railway station and reaches the Sanandaj after passing through the cities of Bahar, Lalejin and Qorveh. 219
