Iran's national football team, domestically known as " Team Melli", held its first training session in Turkey before an international friendly fixture.

Iran’s national football team or Team Melli is in Istanbul ,Turkey, to play a friendly match against Turkey, a traditional rival. 

After holding  a training camp in Istanbul for a week, Iran will play a warm-up match with Turkey on May 28, as part of preparations for the 2018 Moscow World Cup.

After Turkey, the team will go to Austria to hold another warm-up match against Greece on June 2.

Finally, "Team Melli" will face Lithuania before starting the breathtaking matches against Spain, Portugal and Morocco in the 2018 World Cup.

Experts say Iran faces an uphill struggle, being in the same group as Spain and Portugal.
