Iran Press/ Middle East: To reach the next stage of the qualifying games for the Qatar World Cup 2022, the Iranian players needed to defeat the Bahraini national team, so with 12 points in total after the victory, Iran climbed to the second rank of Group C, in which Iraq holds the top position, with 14 points.
Iran will face Cambodia this coming Friday, which is the weakest team of the group. The victory over the team can facilitate Iran's win against Iraq.
After the victory over the Bahraini team, Iran's team head coach Dragan Skocic said he had concentrated on the game against Cambodia and did not think about the previous match.
The Iranian team's forward Sardar Azmoon said: "The Iranian national football team will easily win when they play their game, and they will only think about winning the next match against Cambodia."
Mahdi Taremi, another Iranian forward, said: "The Iranian national football team has two matches against Cambodia and Iraq so to reach to the next round of the qualifying games for Qatar World Cup, and the game with the Iraqi national football team is the most important match for the Iranian football team in recent years."
