Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations stated that the Security Council should have condemned the Zionist regime's attack on Iranian diplomatic facilities in Damascus.

Iran PressAmerica: On Monday, April 1, 2024, Israeli fighter jets targeted the consular section of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, with missile attacks. As a result of the attack, generals "Mohammadreza Zahedi" and "Mohammadhadi Haj Rahimi" and five of their companions were martyred.

In this regard; the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations said: "If the United Nations Security Council had condemned the reprehensible aggression of the Zionist regime on Iranian diplomatic premises (consular section of the Iranian Embassy) in Damascus and subsequently prosecuted the perpetrators, perhaps the necessity of punishing Israeli regime for would have been removed."
