Iran Press/ Europe: According to Iranpress news agency from St. Petersburg, Mehrdad Bazrbash, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, arrived at the airport to participate in the 26th annual economic forum in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Thursday morning, and welcomed by Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, and Igor Chalik, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Of the Russian Federation arrived at Pulkovo International airport.
Upon his arrival in St. Petersburg, Mehrdad Bazrpash stated that the pursuit of bilateral agreements with Russia and the completion of the North-South rail crossing as soon as possible are among the most important goals of participating in this summit.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran added: "Detailed negotiations will be held with the Russian authorities in the field of sea, air and road transportation and the development of ports."
Participating in the special meeting of the North-South railway crossing with the presence of the Minister of Transportation of Russia, holding a tripartite meeting between Iran, Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and meeting bilaterally with some high-ranking officials of the countries participating in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum are among the other programs of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran in Russia.
Alireza Haghigian, Assistant to Iran's Foreign Minister and Director General for Eurasia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Akbar Safaei, Deputy Minister and Director of Ports and Maritime Organization, Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO), Hamed Zamani, Advisor to the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, and Ostad Hossein, Head of the International Affairs Center of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development are accompanying Mehrdad Bazrpash on this trip.
The 26th St. Petersburg Economic Forum will be held with the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, presidents of the Commonwealth of Nations, prime ministers and economic ministers of more than 130 countries.
On the sidelines of this summit, an exhibition of the latest industrial, agricultural, transportation, bank and insurance achievements, medical innovations and knowledge-based products will be held.
Holding 200 specialized meetings on ways to strengthen economic convergence between independent countries, examining ways to neutralize sanctions against independent countries, banking cooperation and multilateral negotiations in order to use national currencies instead of dollars in economic transactions, are among the important axes of the 26th St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
