Tehran (IP) - Within the week ending on January 5, 2024, the (IME) witnessed trade of 3,116,158 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than 624 million USD on its physical market, posting growths of 1.7% and 13.1% in value and volume of trades compared to the figures of the previous week.

Iran PressIran news: According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,439,652 tonnes of commodities valued at nearly 350 million USD.

On this floor, the IME sold 1,250,716 tonnes of cement, 792,000 tonnes of iron ore, 255,597 tonnes of steel, 119,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 12,095 tonnes of aluminum, 10,121 tonnes of copper, 2,510 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate and 9 tonnes of precious metals concentrate.

Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 667,115 tonnes of commodities worth more than 270 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 265,011 tonnes of bitumen, 176,900 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 100,623 tonnes of polymeric products, 57,000 tonnes of lube cut, 44,697 tonnes of chemicals, 13,570 tonnes of sulfur, 5,560 tonnes of petroleum products, 3,818 tonnes of oil, 500 tonnes of waterproofing materials and 380 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 9,390 tonnes of goods on its side market.
