Iran Press/Asia: "During a meeting with the Governor of Turkmenistan's Mary province, the implementation of the provisions of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran's Khorasan Razavi and Turkmenistan's Mary provinces was stressed," Gholamabbas Arbab-Khales said on Thursday.
The MoU includes the two sides' cooperation in economic, industrial, agricultural, academic, scientific, medical, and tourism areas for three years.
Organizing economic exhibitions, expanding relations in culture, science, and research, getting acquainted with tourism and historical capacities, developing transit cooperation, and using regional capacities are among the items considered in the MoU.
With a population of about seven million in Central Asia, Turkmenistan shares land borders with Iran, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan.
Khorasan Razavi Province has a 531-km border with Turkmenistan.
