Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, Ahmad Vahidi stated that the most crucial concern in the current situation is the spread of the Omicron variant throughout Iran.
The most crucial factor in the Omicron spread is the reduction of observing health protocols. He underlined that all sectors of society, such as guilds, offices, and the general public, must pay more attention to disease risk.
Emphasizing the use of masks and the need to inject the booster shot, the interior minister pointed out that unnecessary gatherings should not be formed, and serious monitoring would be carried out in this regard.
He highlighted that according to the latest statistics, the injection rate of the third dose is about 25 percent, and this figure should be effectively increased.
"We are investigating this issue in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to make the third dose of the COVID vaccine mandatory for the activities of businesses, guilds, and other areas, and of course, this issue must be approved by the National Task Force for Combatting Coronavirus to become effective," he concluded.
