Iran Press/ Iran News: Ali Bahadori Jahormi, wrote on his Twitter account: "The verdict of the International Court of Justice regarding compensation for the damages caused by the illegal seizure of Iranian property in the United States is a historic victory and international acceptance of the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
According to the verdict of the International Court of Justice issued on Thursday (March 30) in the case of confiscation of some Iranian assets against the US government, the confiscation of the assets of the Iranian government and a number of banks and companies by the US courts is contrary to the obligations of that country in 1955 Treaty of Amity and stipulated that the American government should compensate the damages caused to Iran as a result of the confiscation of these properties.
The International Court of Justice also recognized the freezing and blocking of the assets of the Iranian government and banks in 2012 as against the 1955 Treaty of Amity and did not accept the US government's reference to the exceptions of Article 20 of the treaty to justify the issuance of the order to block Iranian assets.
