Following his bilateral meeting with Lebanese and Palestinian officials in Beirut, Iran's Foreign Minister held talks with Ziad al-Nakhaleh, Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement on recent regional developments.

Iran PressMiddle East: In this meeting, the latest developments in the region, as well as developments in the Palestinian scene, the recent attacks and aggressions of the Zionist occupation regime against the oppressed Palestinian people and the holy places in the Holy Quds, and the resistance groups and members of the Palestinian people, especially the youth, against this regime were discussed.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahain pointed to the consistent and principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the oppressed nation and the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime, and the necessity of unifying the Palestinian groups as well as the unity of opinion and cohesion of the Muslim governments and nations in supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation and He emphasized the implementation of effective and deterrent measures against the aggressive actions of the Zionists against the Palestinians and Islamic holy sites.

In this meeting, the Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine also appreciated the political support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Palestine in regional and international forums and the importance of these positions in improving the spiritual spirit and standing of the Palestinian nation and described the resistance in its best condition in the past few decades. He emphasized that the growing internal crises in the Zionist regime are a sign of the helplessness and weakness of the Zionist occupiers against the will, resistance, and struggle of the resistance fighters and members of the Palestinian nation and that the Zionist enemy is on the path of decline and destruction.

Earlier in his meeting with Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the Government of Lebanon, Amir Abdollahian, said that new developments have taken place in the region in recent weeks, said: We consider the result good for the region, the Islamic world, and Lebanon as well. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported dialogue and reconciliation in the face of regional tensions and crises and does not consider war and conflict as a solution.

"Regarding the bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon, we have ideas and initiatives to improve the situation in Lebanon, which will be discussed with the authorities tomorrow and today. The friendly country and Lebanon will consult.' Iran's Foreign Minister added.

Iran's Foreign Minister left Oman for Lebanon on Wednesday, after having consultations with his Omani counterpart, Badr al-Busaidi.

Upon his arrival in Beirut on Wednesday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahain said that Iran has initiatives for the improvement of the situation in Lebanon.
