With regard to the election-supervising entities and their role, Tahan-Nazif said in different countries, the protection of the constitution and holding of elections are carried out by either the legislature or the judiciary or a commission of different branches of power.
The body supervising the elections must be one based on the law and with strict transparent regulations and must not be affiliated with any political group or organization, he stressed.

As with the reforming of the election law by the Constitutional Council and the Parliament, he told IranPress that simpler language, focusing on more details and the development of qualifications scope are among the important features of the reform.
Highlighting the increase in the candidates' number across the country, the CC spokesman noted that one of the points with the new law is the increase in the time span for reviewing the candidates' qualifications.

In response to a question about the council's plan to maximize people's participation in the elections, Hadi Tahan-Nazif said in the bill under examination, the parliament seeks to further facilitate the identification of the voters and smoothing the process of voting in the poll stations.

He highlighted the fact that the Islamic Republic allows the special role to participate in the political system of the country and recalled that on average every year Iran has held elections after the Islamic Revolution.

The CC spokesman stated that some political currents are trying to misrepresent the Islamic Republic of Iran to the world, but the fact is that the Islamic Republic has a brilliant track record for the world in terms of democracy.
