Tehran (IP)- The commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that 20 round-trip flights of the Air Force will provide services for the transportation of Arbaeen Hosseini pilgrims.

Iran PressIran News: Safar 20 1445 Hijri (September 6, 2023), marks the Arbaeen of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS.), the third Imam of the Shi'as of the world, and his faithful companions in the desert of Karbala, and on this day pilgrims enter the city of Karbala in the south to attend the Arbaeen ceremony of Hussain (a.s.). 

Brigadier-General Hamid Vahedi, commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the services of this force during the Arbaeen Hosseini pilgrimage, added:

"20 round-trip flights are planned for the transportation of Arbaeen pilgrims from Mehrabad Air Base, as well as 3 C-130 aircraft, one aircraft as an air emergency and 2 aircraft for support will serve the pilgrims of Abba Abdullah al-Hussein (AS) in case of need.

Brigadier General Vahedi also said: "Air force processions of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army have also been set up at the border of Mehran and the cities of Najaf and Karbala to serve the Arbaeen Hosseini pilgrims and will continue to provide services until all the pilgrims return to the country."

The Commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the Air Force Mobile Hospital is also located at the Barekat terminal on the border of Mehran, stated that the Air Force's mobile health and treatment system is equipped with all health and treatment facilities and the required medical items and 6 specialized groups with 32 beds with the possibility to increase to 50 beds are located in this system.
