Damascus (IP) - The Iranian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, in a meeting with the President of Syria in Damascus, discussed bilateral and regional issues.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Ali Bagheri Kani, the Iranian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Syrian President Bashar Assad during his trip to Syria on Tuesday.

Talking about the Gaza crisis and the need to end the Zionist regime's crimes against the Palestinian people were among the most important topics discussed between the two sides.

During this meeting, Assad emphasized: "Resistance against occupation in all its forms will remain a basic principle and a strategic choice."

The President of the Syrian Republic said: "Whenever the occupation approaches its failure in the face of the steadfastness of resistance, it intensifies its bloody violence."

Bagheri also emphasized in this meeting that Iran-Syria relations will remain deep and strategic; Because it is based on solid principles and common and honest interests.

The Iranian Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out Iran's constant efforts to develop bilateral relations with Syria and increasing investment is both for serving the two sides and the countries and people of the region.

Damascus is the second destination of Ali Bagheri Kani's regional trip, and before that, the Iranian acting Minister of Foreign Affairs had a meeting and discussion with high-ranking officials in Lebanon.
