Iran Press/Europe: Esmail Baghaei Hamaneh stated on Tuesday evening during the forty-fifth session of the Human Rights Council that the judiciary in Iran is independent and adheres to the legal procedures in accordance with the laws and obligations of Iran under the international documents.
He added that no group or government has the right to impose its way of thinking or its legal system on others.
Iran's ambassador also referred to US hostility against Iran, adding that the Western countries that issued anti-Iranian statements are accomplices in the consequences of the criminal behavior of the United States due to the non-fulfillment of their obligations towards Iran.
Baqaei Hamaneh stressed that Iran does not see human rights as a bargaining chip to appease friends and oppose enemies, emphasizing that Iran's determination to permanently improve human rights in all its dimensions is firm, despite US bullying, its illegal sanctions, and pressure.
On Monday, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saeed Khatibzadeh has slammed the European Union’s unacceptable move to issue a joint statement against Iran at the Human Rights Council.
Such a statement with a selective and baseless stance lacks validity and credibility, the Iranian official said, adding that the EU statement fundamentally runs counter to the approach to the promotion of human rights.
The National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament issued a statement on Tuesday in reaction to the allegations raised by some European countries about human rights violations in Iran and said: "The recent move of European countries in accusing Iran of violating Human Rights as well as interfering in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran lacks any legal basis and it is considered a clear violation of international law. "
Last week, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, together known as the E3, summoned Iranian ambassadors to their countries in a coordinated diplomatic protest of Iran’s treatment of dual nationality and political prisoners.
