Iran receives offers on defence military equipment provision: Envoy

The Iranian Ambassador to Russia referred to the fact that the provision of defense needs is a legal right of the Islamic Republic, and said he had received proposals to provide defense and military equipment.

Iran PressEurope: In an interview with Russia's RIA Novosti news agency on Wednesday, Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Moscow, said in a statement that US officials had recently used the JCPOA mechanism to extend Iran's arms embargo stressing that the Americans have withdrawn the JCPOA and cannot use it as a member.

Jalali noted that all the current problems are due to the US violation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

The Iranian ambassador to Russia said that Tehran's reaction to the issue of Iran in the UN Security Council and the extension of arms embargo would be severe, adding that there are various options to respond to these moves.

Jalali noted that the JCPOA and Resolution 2231, if adhered to by all its members, could be effective in resolving existing tensions.

"After two years of US withdrawal from the JCPOA, the Americans have not realized their mistake and are only pursuing their unilateral and arbitrary goals," he said.

Iran's ambassador to Russia also stressed that the Islamic Republic's response to any US military adventurism would be difficult, saying "Iran has always

sought peaceful and legal solutions, and history has shown that Iran has not started a war in the last century and It and has only defended itself.
