Tehran (IP) - Iran's Parliament Speaker announced on Wednesday that Iran is ready to provide Lebanon with humanitarian aid and cooperation following a massive explosion that killed at least 80 people and injured 4,000 others.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said in his pre-agenda speech: "The hearts of all of us have been filled with grief over the tragic incident at the port of Beirut in Lebanon. The hearts of the Iranian people are with and sympathize with the bereaved people of Lebanon."

The official noted that we offer our condolences to the nation, the government and the parliament of Lebanon, especially to the warriors of Hezbollah and the Leader of the Resistance, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Peace will be our concern for the victims, the immediate recovery for the wounded, and patience and health for the families of these victims and the resilient people of Beirut.

"Iran, as always, is ready to cooperate and provide friendly assistance to the Lebanese government and people, and in this regard, we call on the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and relief agencies to be present in Lebanon as soon as possible to assist the victims of this incident," he added.

Lebanon is in mourning after a massive explosion ripped through Beirut’s port on Tuesday killing more than 70 people and injuring 4,000.
